EASY TO USE - Adobe PDF File

Start by entering basic information like item name, original cost, and projected selling price.

Then add projected selling expenses, like listing and optional feature fees, shipping and handling, and your merchant account (like PayPal) fees.

The Estimator will calculate and display your total selling expenses and then your projected net income (profit or loss).

CALCULATIONS EXPLAINED

The profit and loss calculator file includes instruction page and hidden form calculations are explained in callout boxes like shown at right so you understand how ending figures are being tallied.

REUSABLE, PRINTABLE

The Estimator has features that prevent a user from permanently changing any of the fields.  The "Refresh Form" button clears all fields, which also allows you to start from a blank form over-and-over.  Easily print the entire form for hard copy reference.

Reset form fields to zero - Print your data

EXPORT & IMPORT DATA

Use the "Export" button to save a scenario for later use, then when you want you can Import that data right back into the form fields... easy enough, all you have to remember is where you saved and what you named the export file.

GUARANTEES

There is no guarantee that Profit & Loss Estimator for Online Auctions will give you the exact results you are looking for -- auctions are unpredictable -- but it should help you make some key decisions BEFORE you list.

I am a computer coach and train people to use computers for business purposes, including selling at online auctions like eBay, and I designed this tool for training my students to look at the entire picture.

  • If an item sells, what selling price can be expected?

  • How many auction features should be used to sell the item?

  • Should the item be sold individually, or grouped together with other items to encourage more bidding?

The Estimator allows you to play with different scenarios after doing some simple research.  Some tips are included with The Estimator to help you develop that creative seller mentality ...
